New Sport: Beach Volleyball

Game recaps for beach volleyball are now live

February 3, 2026

Our dedication to providing coverage to every sport continues with the release of game recap support to beach volleyball within FanWord Assist. Now, college sports communicators can take another sport’s recaps off their plate, just one week after our announcement of tennis support.

Similar to tennis, our beach volleyball recaps use XML and XTG stat results to produce AI-powered game recaps in a fraction of the time it takes to write them manually.

Like our other sports, we’ve tailored the recap process to finely parse results and create beach volleyball outputs that look and sound like those hand-written recaps you’re accustomed to.

Welcome to the future, beach volleyball. 🏐

Expert Knowledge in Your Hands

Michelle Meyer runs our client success and product testing teams at FanWord. She was also a highly touted former beach volleyball player and coach, working with USA Volleyball and serving as an assistant coach at the University of Hawaii.

Beach volleyball is her passion, and that shows up in the details — from how flights are referenced, to how “extra points” and win-by-two sets are described, to how duals are summarized without sounding generic.

“More and more of our new partners have beach volleyball teams, which is an incredible sign of how much the sport has grown at the collegiate level,” Meyer said. “I’m excited for FanWord Assist to help expand coverage for beach and the athletes driving it forward this upcoming season.”

The goal is simple: outputs that read like the beach recaps your audience already trusts, produced in a fraction of the time.

How FanWord Assist Handles Beach Volleyball Recaps

We tailored the generation of beach volleyball recaps to include the details that matter most for credibility and consistency:

  • Flight-first language that sounds like beach (the 1s, the 2s, top flight, straight sets, went the distance, deciding third)
  • Results formatting that matches recap conventions (clean “RESULTS” section, No. 1–No. 5 court lines, correct set presentation)
  • Dual flow that respects how points hit the board when finish order is available — and avoids forced “play-by-play” language when it isn’t

Here’s a look at how FanWord Assist reads XML/XTG files to create clear, accurate, and customizable beach volleyball recaps:
